What is Google Vacation Rentals?

An integration that brings together vacation property listings. When people search for listings in a specific location, they can see information about properties available for vacation rentals directly in Google search results.

In real life, it works as a resource for vacation rental research that “reflects” the information on your listing and gives you direct traffic for free. By clicking on the link, the potential guest is taken to your website, where they can make a reservation.

Which Stays plans can be connected?

For now, Administrator, Agency and Pro plans can connect to Google Vacation Rentals.

Can I see my listings on Google Vacation Rentals?

At this time there is no direct way to view your listings on Google Vacation Rentals.

As an alternative, you can search for “vacation rentals in [city name]” on Google and filter the results to try to find your property.

How long does it take for the listings to become active?

Google Vacation Rentals takes 2 to 3 business days to activate your listings.

What is the behavior of reservations made by Google?

Google redirects the guest to your Stays website, and the reservation process is done directly there. If the reservation is made via this channel, it will have the identifier "GoogleVR API" to distinguish it from direct reservations on the website.

Is the rate plan registered on Stays sent to the channel?

Yes, Google Vacation Rentals reflects the prices you registered via Stays.

What are the requirements to connect?

Google has some requirements before it can advertise your listing. Are they:

  • Each listing must have at least 5 images, with minimum dimensions of 720×720 pixels, 4:3 aspect ratio and a caption. See recommendations by Google here;
  • Each listing must have at least 1 bed;
  • Listings must allow instant reservations;
  • Listings must be from one of these categories: apartment, bungalow, cabin, chalet, cottage, gîte (French country house), house resort rental, house, luxury home or other vacation rental properties. Hotels are not accepted;
  • The name and description of the listings cannot be the same;
  • Your website must be published;
  • Your website must have a logo or favicon with a transparent or non-white background and square dimensions.

What is the commission charged?

Google Vacation Rentals does not charge a commission for displaying your listings. Potential guests are redirected to your website, where they can finish their reservation.
